LUU Dance Band

Welcome to the Leeds University Union Dance Band. Formed in 1987, this 22 piece big band is a Leeds University Union Society and performs public and private functions around Leeds and the West Yorkshire area.

This website aims to provide you with the latest information about the band highlighting out gigs past, present and future.

In the 21 years since its formation it has moved from its humble beginnings to an independent fully functioning semi-professional band gigging around Leeds, and the wider Yorkshire area.

The band has flourished since it began and now performs at private functions and publicly organised gigs in some of Leeds most prestigious jazz venues including The Wardrobe and HiFi.

In 2009, the Band saw off some fierce competition at the Great North Big Band Jazz festival, by winning the Best overall band and the Best Soloist (George Millard, 1st Tenor)
